In the 2010 Florida building code(FBC) the Wind-borne debris region (WBDR) are defined as follows (see image):
Areas located:
1. Within 1 mile of the coastal mean high-water line where the design wind speed is 130 mph or greater.
2. In areas where the design wind speed is 140 mph or greater.
The High-velocity Hurricane Zone (HVHZ) is defined as Miami-Dade and Broward Counties.
